LUCY: 10 M O N T H S

Fun Facts|
  • Wearing 12-18 month clothes and in size 4 diapers!
  • 4 teeth, and loves to rub them together. (Worst sound ever!)
  • Sleep schedule is a bit off. Goes to bed between 7-8pm and wakes up at 7:30am. Usually takes 2 solid naps during the day.
  • Obsessed with shoes and socks. Is usually always holding onto one of them while crawling around
  • Loves to be thrown in the air by her daddy
  • Loves to play peekaboo! She makes herself giggle while she is "hiding" from us with her head down on the table/floor.
  • She is our little parrot and mimics our sounds. She especially loves to scream really loud when she is mad or excited
  • Starting to learn how to wave and clap
  • Said her first word yesterday. She looked at Brent and said "Dada".
  • Walks along furniture
  • HATES having her face cleaned after eating.
  • Tries to roll off her changing table. Diaper changes and getting dressed happen more often on the floor. And usually involve pinning her down with my feet so she doesn't roll away.
  • Going on stroller walks and bath time are her favorite times of the day.
  • Loves to look at herself in any reflective surface. And she makes funny faces with her mouth.

Easter

March was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. On the 12th, Brent left to start the DPS State Trooper Academy down in Austin, TX.
Our last family picture before we buzzed Brent's hair and he left :(
It was a looooong week and I was more than happy to see him that weekend. It was a short 36 hours of him being home than another long week of the single mom life. The next weekend was Easter Weekend and after much discussion Brent quit the Academy and came back home! After learning more about their work schedules we realized Brent would not be home much and would be working a ton, so I'm thankful to have my husband pick us over work :)

Lucy loved her Easter basket, especially her new treats.

This was too funny. Thanks snapchat.
While Brent was getting his stuff, I had Easter dinner with my family. Lucy always love spending time with her cousins.

Sage and Lucy <3
I literally can't stop laughing about Myka in this picture. The sun was too bright, obviously.
Lucy enjoyed her first Easter egg hunt.

Spring is in Full Swing!

Dallas has been so beautiful lately! And this year we haven't taken it for granted.
We spent an afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum with Brent's parents which was all of our first time. The lighting for almost every picture is pretty terrible but oh well.

And now it is the pretty Texas Bluebonnet Season! I never really paid attention to these beautiful fields when I was growing up. Last year I was taking my maternity pictures in the fields and this year I got to watch Lucy touch and play with the flowers. Though I loved being pregnant, it's a lot more fun having Lucy here.
Her lips are so perfect
This picture makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.
He is the best daddy and Lucy knows it.

LUCY: 9 M O N T H S

Lucy's personality is shining through every day and I love it. I laugh at her all day. I spend the majority of my time picking her up and moving her since she is so mobile and tries to get into anything and everything. She is obsessed with trying to get into our bedroom, the bathroom (gross) and the kitchen (to dump Izzy's water bowl). We had to get baby gates to close off her access to certain areas of the apartment.

Stats
Height: 29.3in (96%)
Weight: 19lbs. 7oz. (70%)
Head: 17in (32%)

Fun Facts
  • Still in size 3 diapers and wearing 6-12 month clothes but is about to be in 12 month clothes. She is so long!
  • Cut her first top tooth a day or so before she turned 9 months. (Total of 3 teeth). Her second top tooth is about to pop through any day.
  • Rocks back and forth and dances when she hears music
  • Plays peekaboo with her burp clothes. It's the cutest thing.
  • Feeds herself: loves her puffs, yogurt melts, and graham crackers. And is starting to hold her own bottle. Prefers vegetable over fruits.
  • Thankfully her spit ups have basically stopped. The first few months we switched her to only formula she was a spewing machine.
  • Somewhat on a good napping schedule if we are at home (morning, lunch and a short afternoon nap). She will not nap if we are not at home, but she stays happy even when I know she is exhausted.
  • However, she hates staying home. She gets so bored with all of her toys.
  • Starting to get stranger danger, especially with men.
  • Laughs the hardest when she is with her daddy, a lot of the time she will just look at him and start laughing.
  • Always has to have something in her hand and/or mouth when crawling
  • Bath time is her absolute favorite time
  • Loves to ride in shopping carts
  • Pulls herself up on everything and stands up. And is good at getting back down now. She is starting to walk along furniture.
  • Loves to hold our hands and walk everywhere (we have bets on when she will be walking)
  • Is now trying to climb up onto things
  • Loves to crawl through legs and over/under the table and chair legs (it's her little obstacle course)
  • Loves to hang out on Izzy's dog beds
  • Absolutely hates the vacuum. It's the only thing that scares her to tears.
  • Has the most fun when she is playing with her cousins who all adore her.
  • Starting to be more of a cuddle bug, especially after she eats.
  • Still a thumb sucker and stomach sleeper
  • Loves to swing at the park
  • Loves to look out the window

Our Little Love Bug

I am not a huge Valentine's Day supporter. I would much rather get flowers/cards/candy/signs of appreciation randomly throughout the year than it being "forced" on Valentine's Day. So we didn't really do anything. Brent and I spent Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Temple which is where this love story of ours really got going since that is where we were married. And then went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. A big thank you to my parents for babysitting! Brent and I desperately needed some time to ourselves.

I had to have a little Valentine's Day photoshoot of our little Love Bug because 1. She is just too adorable 2. I have to make sure she has a cute picture to put in her First Year Baby Book!
Here are some of my favorites:
Izzy wanted a solo shot

LUCY: 8 M O N T H S

Fun Facts:
  • Still in 6-12 month clothes and wearing size 3 diapers
  • Knows her name
  • Goes to bed around 6:30pm and wakes up around 7:30am! (unless she is teething, then she usually wakes up once in the middle of night..)
  • She usually goes to bed without a fuss but sometimes she likes me to rock her for a few minutes, and I am ok with the cuddles
  • Loves to twist my hair in her fingers
  • Has 2 bottom teeth and she must be cutting a top tooth right now
  • Pro crawler and is pulling herself up on everything to stand up
  • Has a shoe fetish and loves to crawl to people's feet and feel their shoes
  • Loves to crawl over people on the floor like they are a jungle gym, keeps her entertained for a long time
  • Loves to be upside-down!
  • Has so much personality and loves to squeal and babble
  • Takes a little bit to warm up to strangers now if we are out running errands, she just like to stare at them.
  • Starting to give big, slobbery open mouth kisses to mama (Brent claims I am making it up)
  • Always on the move and has SO much energy
  • HATES taking naps! She will take maybe 2 during the day that are less than an hour. And if she isn't at home in her crib..then forget it! How do other moms get their babies to take amazing 2-3 hour naps every day?! This girl wears me out by the end of the day!
  • Loves to be on her daddy's shoulders
  • HATES when she has to get dressed and puts up a big fight.
  • HATES being put into her car seat and fights us by thrusting forward and twisting around. And then hates being in it for longer than 10 min.
  • Loves eating her solids but gets easily distracted
  • Loves chasing Izzy around, sneaking up on her, and pinching her face
  • Loves to pinch people in the throat, cheeks, and nose
  • Loves to lay belly down on tile/hardwood
  • Occasionally does the bear crawl which is hilarious
  • Sadly she has realized when she has a bow on her head and pulls it off after wearing it for a little while
8 months going on 18?! Ah! Look at that pose

LUCY: 7 M O N T H S

Lucy Fun Facts:
  • Wears 6-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
  • Our little speedster: army crawler. She is still figuring out how to really crawl but is getting closer every day.
  • Sits up like a pro and gets from crawling position to sitting on her own.
  • Loves cords and is drawn to them like a fly to a light.
  • Sleeps through the night (usually 8:30pm-7:30am)
  • Gets extremely bored at home and loves to go to other people's homes, especially both of her grandparents!
  • Loves other kids and toddlers (especially her cousins!). She could watch and laugh at them all day.
  • Still is a big mama's girl when she gets tired or upset. But daddy brings out her biggest laughs.
  • Her favorite game is to chase Izzy around the apartment.
  • Baby Einstein keeps her happy for a little bit if I need her to be occupied.
  • Still not a lover of solids but she is doing significantly better than last month.
  • Prefers bottles, especially when we aren't home, since she has to be looking at what is going on and hates to be covered. Because of this she is almost weaned.
  • Loves to hold onto my hair, especially when she's tired.
  • Also loves to scratch things as a comfort when she's tired or hungry.
  • Not really on a nap schedule and she can go for so long without a nap. She isn't a nap lover. Sometimes she will get 3 good naps and a 4th cat nap and sometimes she barely gets 2 good naps in a day. I don't know how she will go all day long with napping only 2 hours total all day.
  • Prefers to be supported standing up rather than laying or sitting.
  • Her favorite toy is her activity table that she loves to stand up at by herself.
  • Her 1st tooth poked through today!

This picture cracked me up:
She is definitely Brent's daughter
