Spring has Sprung!

Words can not describe how happy that it is finally warm outside! And since it's warm outside, it was the perfect time to transform our yard. Yes we are in an apartment and we have a yard- it's awesome. Well it's more like a mini strip of yard. But this is one of the main reasons why we picked this apartment. We hated going up and down the 3 flights of stairs at our last place to take Izzy out, so now being able to open the door and let her out on her own is amazing. However, whenever it would rain even a tiny bit we couldn't let her out back because our mini strip of yard was just dirt with a handful of weeds. 

Dirt + rain + dog = a hot muddy stinky mess.

So the plan was to always put some sod down and make our dirt strip into a nice grassy area. Now that it's warm outside, that is just what we did! It made for a fun Saturday activity for Brent and I.

Some questions you might have: 

Q: How are you going to cut it?

A: Well the apartment complex says that we can have their lawn care guys mow it however I don't really want them in our patio area, nor do I think they would get in through the gate without breaking it. So we are just going to borrow my parents weed whacker occasionally.

Q: How do you water it?

A: Excellent question. Since the apartment doesn't have a faucet of any kind in our patio area, Brent was filling up a 5 gallon bucket in our bathtub and taking it out there (it would take 4 trips). And then he found a much better method.

A hose! Where is it hooked up?

Haha yes that is our bathroom sink! So funny. But our grass is doing great and now our patio doesn't look so ugly. Yay!
